On January 15th,  Paul Bailley set a Buccaneers personal best last night with a performance of 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points in a game. The record will likely not be broken by any other team member this season except for Darcy Anderson and Dave Werner. Bailey, who at 6'3 has soft hands and great moves, singlehandedly put on an exhibition against the Virginia Wings that had fans shaking their heads. What made the event even more special was a group of some 30 plus youngsters rode a bus for over 45 minutes to cheer Bailley on as their church group attended the game. After the game, Bailley was mobbed by well wishers and youngsters seeking autographs.

Bailley, a former member of the ECHL Greenville Grrrowl, has made the upstate area his home since settling down with his wife and children. After a slow start where he had hurt his ribs against Florida and then pulled his groin against Atlanta, Bailley showed everyone what a capable and healthy Paul Bailley could do. No one was disappointed. By halftime, he had amassed a hat trick and two assists for five points. He finished the game with another two goals and added three assists for ten points.

To say that Bailley has become a fan favorite is an understatement. We congratulate him on a fine performance and for setting the points and top scoring defenseman award for points in a game.
